Our commitment to the community in which we have lived and worked for over 140 years is central to who we are as a business. As a result, we are proud to support a wide range of local initiatives throughout the year, alongside a variety of community events.

The Aldingbourne Trust

We are active supporters of The Aldingbourne Trust, a charity that provides care, support, and employment opportunities to over 1,000 people with learning disabilities and autism across West Sussex. Recent projects have included funding a community garden and hedge maze at the Aldingbourne Country Centre, as well as supporting their successful wood recycling enterprise.

The Centre welcomes more than 50,000 visitors each year, generating vital income for the charity and meaningful employment opportunities for the people it supports.

Community involvement

In recent years, we have also:

  • Supported the Apuldram Centre near Chichester
  • Provided free tractor rides at the Oving Scarecrow Day
  • Supported St Wilfrid’s Hospice Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme
  • Sponsored the Strongman Competition at Littlehampton’s Armed Forces Day
  • Supplied the Tangmere Village Christmas tree
  • Made donations to organisations including:
    • Tangmere Scouts
    • The Rotary Chichester Dragon Boat Race
    • The Lorica Trust
    • Children with Cancer UK
    • Oving Parish Church

Supporting education and sport

We are strong supporters of local schools, offering both practical and financial assistance to help create gardens, forest schools and vegetable patches. These outdoor learning spaces provide valuable hands-on experiences for young people, supporting wellbeing and helping to engage those affected by anxiety or mental health challenges. We also run an annual programme of free farm visits for schools and youth groups.

We continue to support smaller community groups in developing sports pitches and outdoor spaces, sharing our expertise wherever it can make a positive difference.
